More importantly, original pieces of art are unique and irreplaceable so cannot be replicated even by the original artist so each original holds intrinsic value if painted by a well-known or sought after contemporary artist. Today many founders of contemporary art are internationally acclaimed artists, with works on display within some of the world’s most prestigious galleries commanding record hammer prices at auction.
